Jinny and Mike’s wedding day was something special, and it’s bringing all the inspiration if you’re dreaming of a simple wedding that’s full of love and sunshine. Plus, it was held at a gorgeous San Jose wedding venue that I’ll never be able to get over! Find all the ideas you need for your own San Jose wedding here, from a Northern California wedding photographer.
Boulder Ridge by Wedgewood Weddings is seriously such a gem. Jaw-dropping architecture and mountain views at a luxury golf club create the most perfect backdrop for a simple wedding. It’s tranquil, it’s accessible, and it’s absolutely beautiful. Here’s a quick overview of the San Jose wedding venue amenities so you can determine if it’s a good fit for your celebration:

All-inclusive options?: Yes
There are four different wedding package options available for Boulder Ridge by Wedgewood Weddings: build-your-own, classic, premier, and elite. Each option is fantastic for your wedding, and your choice really just depends on how hands-on you want to be in wedding planning! Whether you’re more on the type A side or the side who’s just ready to party, no matter what that looks like, there’s a package that’ll fit your taste.
The build-your-own option offers the least amount of included amenities, and is way better suited for those who want to get knee-deep in planning their own wedding planning! It includes the venue, a two-entree buffet, and tables and chairs, and leaves the rest to you. If you’re someone who wants to be in control of everything about your day (I totally feel you), this might just be the best option for you!
This option is one step up from the build-your-own package, including a few more amenities, but ultimately still letting you plan your day exactly how you want it. The classic package includes the same two-entree buffet, but this time with appetizers, wine, and champagne added. It also includes a DJ, invitations, and house centerpieces, giving you a little extra help in wedding planning!
This one includes everything mentioned above, PLUS an open bar, an extra entree, a personalized wedding cake, and custom fresh floral centerpieces. The premier package THE choice for couples who want to sit back, relax, and have those small details taken care of for them.
And finally, one more step up is the elite package, which is basically an all-inclusive wedding option! With this package, you get everything in the premier tier but in the elite option instead of the house option. This means nicer chairs, better wine and spirits, and a more luxurious feel overall, if that’s the vibe you’re going for! This package also includes charger plates, a photo booth, accent lighting, and an officiant, so you can REALLY relax and not stress so much with wedding planning. And tbh, I love that for you.
There are some stunning options for photos at Boulder Ridge, and it can honestly get really overwhelming if you don’t know what you want. That’s why my top tip is to book a photographer who knows the venue (that’s me!) who can help you get all the best wedding photos. Here’s my full guide to capturing weddings at the drop-dead gorgeous San Jose wedding venue:
Seriously, there are so many areas here perfect for portraits. The typical ceremony site is on a lawn overlooking the mountain views, and that’s a perfect spot to reuse for group photos afterwards, like bridal party pictures or family pictures!
My personal favorite spot for couple photos? The rolling hills of the golf course that overlook the pond. Literally stunning!
The San Jose wedding venue is already so gorgeous on its own that you don’t have to do much to spruce it up. Jinny and Mike used simple colors and a simple setup, and I personally think it complemented the scenery perfectly. So, let this be your sign to opt for a simple wedding!
Keep in mind that at Boulder Ridge, you’re in a very open area without shade, and that the California sun can get toasty. Plan your ceremony time out to where the sun won’t be hitting directly above you, both for comfort AND for photos! The ideal time, in my opinion, is starting the ceremony around 5:00 pm in the spring and summer months, and around 4:00 pm in the fall and winter months.
If the San Jose wedding venue seems like a dream so far, make sure you know the answers to frequently asked questions about having your wedding there!
Spring and fall will always bring the mildest, most comfortable temperatures. There are indoor options for your wedding as well, if you do opt for a summer or winter wedding! But my personal favorite time of year here is spring. The lush greenery of the golf course and the rolling hills complement a spring wedding so well, and I’m obsessed with it every single time.
If you’re planning a destination wedding or just have out-of-town guests, I’ve got you covered on things to do in San Jose. My top three, absolutely can’t-miss things are Big Basin Redwoods State Park to see some classic Cali scenery, the Winchester Mystery House, and the Municipal Rose Garden, especially if you’re hosting a spring wedding!
If you’re still on the hunt for your San Jose wedding venue, here are a few others I also love:
I’ll say it again: this day was truly so special. The way the sun shone down on the two of them and framed their wedding photos perfectly? Ugh, I’ll never be over it. Everything from the bride’s stunning wedding dress to the “family” photos with their dogs (adorable, right?!) was so them. The simplicity of the day let the couple’s love be the main focus, and when I say that was the most beautiful thing of all, I mean it. These two were so giddy in love, and getting the opportunity to capture their day is something I’ll never, ever forget.
