Planning your wedding seriously can feel like just one thing after another, over and over and over. Coordinating with people, planning dates, choosing just the right linens… the list goes on! If engagement pictures are still on your to-do list, I know the perfect place and the perfect photographer (wink, wink) to get you the engagement photos of your dreams. Ready to create the Golden Gate Bridge photoshoot of your dreams? I thought so.
Joanne and Matthew’s engagement photos were actually straight out of a dream. A gorgeous sunrise session? I’m so in. At the Golden Gate Bridge? Say less. With a classic car? Absolute perfection. I’ll never be over these.
If you live near the Bay Area, you know better than anyone that there are countless stunning places you could choose for your engagement photos. But the Golden Gate Bridge? It just has something about it. As a Northern California engagement photographer, I know it can be hard to choose the perfect location. Let’s get into all the best reasons for choosing the Golden Gate Bridge for yours!
Think about it, how many people can really say they took their engagement photos at a famous landmark? If you’re lucky enough to live somewhere that gives you this opportunity, you take it. Imagine your out-of-state family members’ faces when they get their save the dates in the mail, your Golden Gate Bridge photoshoot front and center… Iconic.
The Golden Gate Bridge is famous for a reason! I mean, these photos look like they could be on the cover of a magazine, seriously. The water plus the bridge makes it literally the dreamiest place for an engagement photoshoot, and I’ll never get over it.
A fun outfit that feels like you, a spunky pop of color, or even throwing in a classic car like Joanne and Matthew did? All super fun ways to make your Golden Gate Bridge photoshoot yours. It’s a great neutral backdrop to infuse your personality into your pictures. Thinking chic and editorial? Check. Moody and academia-esque? Easy.
I learned a lot from Joanne and Matthew’s engagement photos that I’ll definitely take with me into my next Golden Gate Bridge photoshoot. My #1 tip? Plan around the crowds. We ended up choosing a Sunday sunrise time for these photos because the area is way busier on weekdays and around sunset. The lighting was stunning for the whole shoot: dreamy, airy, and oh so romantic.
The only other thing to look out for when planning your Golden Gate Bridge photoshoot is the wind. Since the area is on water it can definitely get windy, so make sure to plan accordingly for that, whether it be for your outfit or your hair and makeup!
Joanne and Matthew told me they wanted classic car engagement photos at the Golden Gate Bridge, and I said sign me up immediately. Despite us being so tired, the pictures turned out absolutely iconic. Joanne’s outfit? So chic. The all black classic car? The best prop ever. I’ll take a classic car for every engagement photoshoot forever now, please and thank you.
