Montalvo Arts Center is like… THE “it girl” San Jose wedding venue. When I have a couple planning a Montalvo Arts Center wedding, I immediately get excited because, the beauty?? The photo ops?? The European-inspired romance??? Actually insane.
If you’re on the hunt for your dream wedding venue and you’ve come across the Montalvo Arts Center… I’ve gotchu covered with everything you need to know to plan your perfect day here, as your bestie San Jose wedding photographer!!

Okay, there’s so much to love about Montalvo Arts Center. So, even though I could go on about this place literally forever, I’ll try to keep it concise!! Here are a few of the things I love most about a Montalvo Arts Center wedding:

If an Italian-inspired wedding at this venue is already calling your name… I get it. Here are the main details that you need to know as a quick overview of the San Jose wedding venue:

As if the Montalvo Arts Center doesn’t already have everything… They planned their wedding packages out SO intentionally. Here’s everything that they include when you book a wedding at Montalvo Arts Center:
So, yeah, when I say you get princess treatment here… I mean it!!

As a San Jose wedding photographer, choosing the best season for a wedding here is tricky. Every part of the year here brings something else BEAUTIFULLL, so I genuinely love weddings in every season!!
Spring here is something really special. The florals alone make me want to scream, but when you add in the soft lighting and the slow days?? I’m obsessed!! I always picture a fully outdoor spring wedding here, with your ceremony in the gardens and your reception in the courtyard surrounded by the dreamy Italian architecture!!
Maybe it’s just the NorCal of it all, but I am a summer lover through and through. The golden light and long days work SO well for a Montalvo Arts Center wedding, especially when you choose to have pieces of your day indoors and outdoors where it flows really effortlessly.

I will say, though… I love a good moody fall color palette at the San Jose wedding venue. When the architecture is surrounded by deep reds, oranges, and greens, it creates a vibe that would do numbers on Pinterest. And don’t even get me started on the fall temps here, because it feels SO nice.
If you’re planning a wedding between December and April, you’ll be indoors, and let me just say: it has the BEST energy. The luxury architecture thrives when you’re surrounded by candlelight and jewel tones, and believe me: it’s giving cool girl bride.

A wedding day here has so much potential for design. You could go full garden party with pastels and florals everywhere, or you could keep it a really simple all-white color palette with calla lily arrangements and elegant simplicity!!
No matter how you design your Montalvo Arts Center wedding, though, it should have some element of European-inspired decor. The architecture and Italian feel need to be leaned into, because it’s so beautiful and so unique!! If you need some ideas, you can find some of my absolute favorite wedding trends for an Italian-inspired wedding here!!

I could talk about the photo spots at Montalvo Arts Center ALL day, but these are the ones that I absolutely cannot miss:

If you’re wondering where you can hold your wedding ceremony at Montalvo Arts Center, you have a LOT of good options!!
The gardens make things feel so sweet and romantic, and if you’re the type of person who thinks there’s no such thing as too many flowers (same), this is the spot for you to say I do.
If you’re going for a more classy, luxury feel, front lawn ceremonies with the villa behind you are insanely gorg!! I’m obsessed every time.
Now, courtyard ceremonies bring the type of architecture that will make your guests feel like they’re in Italy more than in California. This is for my effortlessly chic girlies, and it works every time.
Indoor wedding ceremonies are available, and this is the only place you can get married in the winter. Don’t worry, the architecture inside the villa is JUST as gorgeous!!

Another thing to love about a Montalvo Arts Center wedding? It’s convenient to San Jose, which means accommodations for you and any out-of-town guests are hella easy!! I personally love the San Jose Marriott and the DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose.

Need a few more rapid-fire tips to plan your perfect day? You know I’ve gotchu!!

As I said, Montalvo Arts Center is that girl, so if you’re planning a wedding here and want a San Jose wedding photographer who will fix your hair, hype you up, cry during your vows, then dance with you at the reception… That’s me!!
