El Dorado Hills is one of those places where it only makes sense to take your engagement photos. The lighting is insane, the rolling hills make the perfect backdrop, and it somehow feels like you’re the only people there, every time! And as a Sacramento engagement photographer, I know how much the little things like that matter. So, if you’re dreaming of romantic engagement photos or looking for the best Sacramento location for spring engagement photos, you won’t want to miss Danie and Alex’s El Dorado Hills engagement!!

Danie and Alex’s session was an actual DREAM. The spring vibes, soft sunset lighting, and romance that made it feel like they were the only two people in the entire world?? Yeah, I’m obsessed.
El Dorado Hills gave us room for movement, so much texture, and vibrant colors that made Danie and Alex’s gallery something really special. They did it all right: outfit changes, a bouquet that added a pop of color, and their full trust in me guiding them through the session! These two were also just adorably in love. They basically invented romance, and it SHOWS.

If you’re as obsessed as I am… Welcome!! An El Dorado Hills engagement is seriously one of my favorites as a Sacramento engagement photographer, and as someone who’s shot a lot of sessions here, I’ve learned some pretty helpful tips for planning your own shoot!
One of my favorite parts of an El Dorado Hills engagement is that it’s super easy. It’s a spot with open-access, so there’s no need for permits or payments, and I love that for you.

El Dorado Hills works really well for the couple who want their engagement photos to feel free and full of joy. When I picture photos like that, I think of you two, running around in a wide-open space, rolling together in a grassy field, and snuggling and stealing kisses on a picnic blanket. And if that’s not the cutest thing you’ve ever heard… You’re wrong!!
Seriously, though, El Dorado Hills works great for a session that feels this way. It has so much open space, which makes it easy to move around and show off your personality!!

Okay, springtime in El Dorado Hills is crazy gorgeous. The temperatures are mild, the flowers are blooming, and the sunlight is just right for photos with a dreamy, hazy feel. Spring also adds to that romantic, easygoing energy that you probably want if you’re choosing to take engagement photos here!!
I always recommend going around sunrise or sunset on a weekday. This will give us the best lighting and the least amount of people, which means we’ll have the freedom to move around anywhere we want!

To really lean into the vibes, I always recommend wearing something a little casual, but still elevated. Think light, flowy fabrics, pastel colors, and most importantly, comfort!! Here are a few pieces that work super well for an El Dorado Hills engagement:

As a Sacramento engagement photographer… My mind is always swirling with engagement photoshoot ideas. And El Dorado Hills is such a perfect blank slate that there are SO many that would work here!! If you need inspiration, I’ve got you:
