If your NorCal wedding venue search has brought you to Winchester Vista by Wedgewood Weddings in Meadow Vista, CA… Okayyy, I see the vision!! As a Sacramento wedding photographer, this is one of those venues I get excited about because you can have the elevated design and mountain views without your wedding ever feeling stuffy or overly formal. And if you’re anything like me, that’s kinda the dream.
Keep reading to see my guide to planning a wedding at Winchester Vista with tons of tips, design ideas, and even a peek into a real wedding!!

Winchester Vista by Wedgewood Weddings is a venue that’s just totally dreamy. It’s located at Winchester Country Club in Meadow Vista, CA, surrounded by 360º views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stunninggg architecture. So if you want elevated… Yeah. You’ve got it.
Winchester Vista is a really good fit for couples who want something versatile. Because luxury?? It doesn’t have to mean stuffy and boring. It gets to mean what you want it to mean, and for this California wedding venue, that usually looks like a hella good design, emotional vows, editorial portraits that look like they’re straight out of Pinterest, and the most fun you’ve ever had, screaming to Beyoncé on the dance floor.
If that’s the kind of day you’re dreaming of, you’re 100% my kind of person. I love all the little moments like that (which you can see in my portfolio)!!

Aside from being drop-dead gorgeous, the venue also makes weddings really easy. There are all-inclusive packages, so wedding planning is less “screaming, crying, throwing up,” and more “OMG, this is SO fun!!”
Winchester Vista has customizable packages for you to be able to pick things like catering, bar service, rentals, coordination, setup, breakdown, and other services. And, yeah… It makes it feel as easy as it seems.
That ease brings a relaxed, excited feel that stays throughout your WHOLE wedding day. From the time you’re in your well-lit getting-ready suite, dancing around with your besties, to the time you’re smooching after saying “I do,” to the time you’re ending the night in your mini reception dress, spicy marg in hand… You’re gonna feel nothing but happiness, stay fully present, and be surrounded by the best kind of love!!

If you were texting me saying, “Okay Grace, give me the stuff that’s actually useful before I book this place,” here’s what I’d tell you…
Know that Winchester Vista is not a downtown Sacramento wedding venue. You’re totally tucked away in a luxe little estate in the foothills with all your people, and that’s something that 100% adds to the energy of the day. Even though you’re a 45-ish minute drive from Sacramento, you feel like you’re in a totally different world!!
That being said, please think about traffic and parking considerations for your guests. Let them know that if they’re coming from somewhere in Sacramento, they’ll need to plan their trip to get there on time (because you don’t want to hear tires in the middle of your vows, duh), but also rest easy knowing that there’s plenty of parking on-site.
One of the things I love the most about Winchester Vista is that she has RANGE. You have indoor and outdoor spaces, so if NorCal decides to get crazy weather-wise, we’re alllll set.

Some people hear “country club wedding venue” and automatically think you only get golf courses as a backdrop, but for Winchester Vista, that could not be further from the truth. I think of this one more as a scenic retreat than anything, because no matter where you’re at on the property, you’re seeing insane mountain views, Redwood tree lines, or some charming architecture that makes everything feel a little more elevated.
The best part of all of it, though?? The flow between all of those spaces feels SO natural and SO easy. So even though you’re getting tons of variety in your gallery with different backdrops and different settings, you’re never having to deal with transportation chaos or, like, hikes to the next venue setting. And we love that!!
Here are all the venue spaces you get to choose from for your day:
A rolling lawn with gorg views and a romantic feel will ALWAYS be a yes from me.
The lush plants and the stone fireplace alone make this spot incredibly romantic for a ceremony, and then when you add in the mild weather and the soft sunlight… It feels SO cinematic.
This outdoor ceremony area can hold up to 150 of your people, so you get an intimate feel and get to see everyone’s face in the crowd, which I love so much. 🥹

Indoor-outdoor spaces for receptions always work well logistically, AND they make a wedding feel a little more luxe, because guests get the feeling that it’s expansive, not that they’re trapped in a ballroom.
This one is a really gorgeous spot with architecture that feels cozy and modern all at the same time, and don’t even get me STARTED on the floor-to-ceiling windows. The natural light is perfect, the views are crazy, and the photos???? Insane!!!

Wedding design is one of my favorite parts of a wedding at Winchester Vista, because you can do pretty much anything with it, and it’ll look beautiful.
My favorite design tip for weddings here (from a Sacramento wedding photographer’s perspective) is to let the natural scenery guide your decor. Organic, wild bouquets?? Nature-inspired color palettes?? Stone and wood elements?? They all look incredible here!!
If you want something a little different, though, check out this pink and green wedding for all the design inspo you’ll basically ever need. I’m still SO obsessed.
As far as wedding dresses, something that’s a little bit structured or architectural works so well here. I always picture something like Gardenia by Jenny Yoo or Liquid Gold by Sarah Seven.

My goal is to ALWAYS give you a gallery that feels nostalgic, emotional, honest, and full of life!! And Winchester Vista?? It has TONS of spots that let me do that really well.
If you’re wondering where we’ll be taking photos, here’s the guide I pretty much always follow for weddings here:

Okay, Mr. and Mrs. Combs had the CUTEST wedding here. Butter yellow everywhere, tons of love, and a dance floor that I’ll probably never forget for as long as I live.
They did everything right from their design to their timeline, and it shows the BEST example of what a Winchester Vista wedding can be like!!
I literally could not be happier for these two and their sweet, sweet love, and I’m so grateful that I got the chance to capture their gorgeous day.

If you still have questions about how to plan a wedding like this, you know I’ve gotchu!!
Winchester Vista is in Meadow Vista, just outside Auburn and roughly 45 minutes from Sacramento, so I’d think about accommodations based on what you want the wedding weekend to feel like. Staying closer to Auburn/Meadow Vista keeps guests near the venue, while Sacramento makes more sense if you’re building more city activities into the weekend!!

Winchester Vista is really gorgeous year-round, so there’s no real right or wrong answer here!!
Spring brings soft, romantic light and mild temps; summer brings long days and insane golden hours over the mountains; fall weddings here are sooo charming, and winter weddings feel extremely cozy. I love it year-round, TBH!!

I’m not a planner, but I am a photographer (who has captured a lot of days like this), so don’t copy this minute-by-minute. A timeline that I usually use for weddings here, though, looks something like this:
9:00 am: Getting ready
12:00 pm: Photographer arrival + detail shots
1:00 pm: First look, private vows, and portraits
2:00 pm: Wedding party + family photos
3:00 pm: Hide away before the ceremony
4:00 pm: Ceremony
4:30 pm: Cocktail hour
5:30 pm: Grand reception entrance + dances
6:00 pm: Dinner
7:00 pm: Dance party!!

The cost of weddings here totally depends on what package you choose, how many guests you have, and the time of year of your wedding!! You can find the most accurate, up-to-date info here or by contacting the venue directly.

If you’re here, you’re probably in the super early stages of planning your wedding. And I know that finding a venue that feels like you is craaazy hard. If you need some extra support, check out my entire wedding planning timeline!! You can also inquire about booking me as your Sacramento wedding photographer right here to have someone on your team who knows what weddings here feel like and exactly how to capture your moments here.
